Learn how to install your Evenflo Pivot Xpand modular travel system with LiteMax infant car seat. Follow this step-by-step guide for a safe and easy setup.
The Evenflo Pivot Xpand modular travel system is designed to grow with your family, offering multiple configurations from a single stroller frame. Pairing it with a LiteMax infant car seat creates a convenient travel system that lets you move your sleeping baby from car to stroller without waking them. Proper installation is key to safety and ease of use, and this guide will walk you through each step.
Before you begin, make sure you have all components: the stroller frame, seat or bassinet attachment, LiteMax infant car seat (such as the LiteMax NXT Infant Car Seat with SensorySoothe), and the Pivot Xpand Second Seat Support if you plan to use a second seat. Also keep the instruction manual handy for torque specifications and weight limits.

Step 1: Assemble the Stroller Frame
Remove the stroller frame from the box and unfold it by pulling up on the handlebar until it clicks into place. Ensure the frame locks securely and the wheels are attached. The front wheels should swivel, and the rear wheels should have brakes. Test the brakes by pressing down on the brake pedal to confirm they engage.
Check that all folding mechanisms are working smoothly. If your model includes a bumper bar, attach it now by aligning the ends with the connectors on the frame and pressing until you hear a click. Do not skip this step, as the bumper bar provides extra stability for the seat attachment.
- Unfold the frame on a flat, non-slippery surface to avoid tipping.
Step 2: Attach the Seat or Bassinet to the Stroller
The Pivot Xpand allows you to use the included seat or a bassinet (sold separately). To attach the seat, align the connectors on the seat with the mounting points on the stroller frame. Push down firmly until you hear a click. Tug gently to confirm it's secure.
If you're using the Pivot Xpand Second Seat Support, attach it to the lower mounting points on the frame before attaching the second seat. The second seat support provides a stable base for an additional child or the LiteMax car seat adapter.
- Always check that the seat is locked before placing your child in it.
Step 3: Install the LiteMax Infant Car Seat into the Stroller
To use the LiteMax car seat with the stroller, you need to attach the car seat adapters (included with the travel system). Locate the adapters and snap them onto the stroller frame’s mounting points. They should click into place securely.
Remove the LiteMax infant car seat from its base and place it onto the adapters, aligning the seat’s connectors with the adapters. Press down until you hear a click. Lift the car seat slightly to ensure it is locked. The Revolve180 LiteMax NXT Rotational Infant Car Seat also works with these adapters for added convenience.
- Never use the car seat in the stroller without the adapters properly attached.
Step 4: Install the LiteMax Car Seat Base in Your Vehicle
Place the car seat base on your vehicle’s rear seat, following the angle indicator on the side. Use the vehicle’s seat belt or LATCH system to secure the base. Thread the belt or LATCH strap through the base’s belt path and tighten until the base does not move more than 1 inch side-to-side.
For vehicles with a load leg feature (available on some models like the Revolve180 LiteMax NXT), extend the load leg to the floor and adjust it until it is firmly in contact. This reduces forward rotation in a crash. Check your vehicle owner’s manual for LATCH weight limits and seating positions.
- The base should be installed at a 30-45 degree angle for newborns; adjust using the built-in level indicator.
Step 5: Secure Your Baby in the Car Seat
Place your baby in the car seat, ensuring their bottom and back are flat against the seat. Adjust the harness straps to the correct height: they should be at or below your baby’s shoulders for rear-facing use. Buckle the harness and tighten it so you cannot pinch any slack at the shoulder.
Position the chest clip at armpit level and ensure the harness is snug. For newborns, use the included infant insert if needed to provide a better fit. The LiteMax NXT Infant Car Seat with SensorySoothe also offers vibration and sound features to help soothe your baby during travel.
- The harness should be snug enough that you cannot pinch excess webbing at the shoulder.
Step 6: Transition from Car to Stroller
Once your baby is secured in the car seat, you can easily move them to the stroller. Unlock the car seat from its base by pressing the release button (usually located on the handle) and lift it out. Carry the car seat by its handle to the stroller.
Align the car seat with the adapters on the stroller frame and press down until it clicks. Double-check that it is locked by lifting the handle slightly. Your baby can now ride in the stroller without being disturbed. When you’re ready to return to the car, simply reverse the process.
- Always lock the stroller’s brakes before placing or removing the car seat.
Installing your Evenflo Pivot Xpand modular travel system with a LiteMax infant car seat is straightforward once you understand the steps. Always refer to your product manuals for specific instructions and weight limits, and periodically check that all connections remain tight. With proper installation, your travel system will provide safe and convenient outings for you and your baby.
